Meg - I'm not sure this is helpful, but it was someone from the Sewanee
Orienteering Society who planted one of the first US boxes at Max Patch
(NC). When a geocacher took the stamp sometime in late 2002 (we think), I
replaced it with a handcarved stamp and tried to contact the SOS via the
phone number (now a Best Western motel) and the PO Box number (no reply)
they'd left in the log.
